![]() | The Polymer Additives group at PCC Chemax offers extensive technical support in addressing additive challenges as well as introducing new materials that include antistats, antifogs, lubricants, pigment dispersants and slip agents. This group is well versed in a variety of polymers including PET, PE, PU, LLDPE. LDPE, HDPE, and PP. |
Our customer base includes master batch formulators and compounders that demand top-notch capabilities of their select suppliers. The polymer lab utilizes a Brabender Plasticorder 19mm single screw extruder with 4' and 6' adjustable slit die heads and a standard taper screw as well as a mixing screw for production of polymer films. |

The compounded, processed resins can then be evaluated for static decay and surface resistivity (under ambient conditions or controlled humidity) and the coefficient of friction can be measured using a Thwing-Albert Friction/Peel tester. |

In addition to our ability to compound and test multiple polymers and chemical additives, our technicians routinely perform Soxhlet extractions and GC and HPLC analyses of additives for our customers. Customers rely on this level of expertise to assist them in preventing production failures as well as improving the performance of their finished product. Our range of chemistries includes amines, primary amides, secondary amides, esters, sulfonates and numerous proprietary materials that have been developed to meet an industry niche. We have successfully compounded many of our products in resins or on powdered substrates to accommodate customers who are unable to use liquid additives. |
| Our ability to develop specialty materials and offer customer packaging enables our customers to get the functionality they need in a container that suits the requirements of production personnel. |
| The polymers group of PCC Chemax addresses traditional industry problems as well as the most recent challenges that include permanent antistatic properties and corrosion inhibition. With hundreds of chemistries available, the technical staff can explore non-traditional molecular structures and substantiate the results with industry standard methods of testing. This scientific creativity has enabled PCC Chemax to position itself as a specialty supplier to the polymer industry providing value added products which solve the most challenging performance issues. |
