Chemal LFL-17 is a nonionic surfactant belonging to the group of alkoxylated fatty alcohols. The product is based on a short carbon chain alcohol and has a chemical description of “Alcohols, C6-10, ethoxylated, propoxylated”. Chemal LFL-17 may be used in mechanical dish wash formulations and rinse aids, as well as in textile and cleaning applications where there is a need for low to non-foaming products. It may also be used in any spray cleaning applications for metal and hard surface substrates where low to non-foaming properties are required, including cascading rinse aids for industrial processes.
Chemal LFL-17 is a clear to slightly hazy liquid with a maximum color of 100 APHA at 25°C. The product is sold in 100% active form which may become hazy when cooled. Low heat and mild agitation will easily restore the material to clarity if this occurs. Chemal LFL-17 forms a cloudy solution in water at ambient temperature. As the chemistry will cloud out at temperatures above ~21°C, it provides low foaming and defoaming properties to aqueous cleaning and wetting solutions to cleaning systems at ambient temperatures.
This product is characterized by an HLB value of 9 and may be mixed with other nonionic, cationic, or anionic agents. Chemal LFL-17 exhibits an instantaneous Draves wetting speed @ 25°C.
