Chemal DA-4P2 is used in rinse aids and mechanical dishwashing detergents, spray metal cleaning, formulations, and other detergent products where low foaming properties are required. Chemal DA-4P2 is primarily recommended for evaluation in defoaming and wetting applications.
Chemal DA-4P2 is a nonionic surfactant belonging to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols. The Chemal DA- series of products are based on decyl alcohol. Chemal DA-4PT is based on Deceth-4 to which 2 moles of PO have been added to further reduce the foam profile. Due to the strong detergency and dispersion capacity, it is an ideal ingredient of household, industrial, and institutional (HI&I) cleaning products. This material is very well suited for rinse aid formulations.
Chemal DA-4P2 is a clear, almost colorless liquid with an active substance content of approximately 100%. The product may haze or stratify under cold conditions, but is easily restored to homogeneity with low heat and agitation. The product is dispersible in water exhibiting an aqueous cloud point of ~25°C. Due to its water dispersibility, it forms hazy solutions in combination with water. Its high surface activity makes it ideal for use in both water and other liquids.
It can be used in combination with other nonionic as well as cationic and anionic surfactants. Chemal DA-4P2 is characterized by low, fast breaking foam and provides excellent performance in the Draves wetting Test (7.5 sec @ 25°C).
