Chemal DA-9 is primarily recommended for evaluation in wetting, detergent and emulsifying applications.
Chemal DA-9 is a nonionic surfactant belonging to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols, INCI name: Deceth-9. The Chemal DA- series of products are based on decyl alcohol. Due to their strong detergency and dispersion capacity they are ideal ingredients of household, industrial, and institutional (HI&I) cleaning products.
Chemal DA-9 is a colorless liquid to soft solid with an active substance content of approximately 100%. The product may solidify or stratify under cold conditions, but is easily restored to homogeneity with low heat and agitation. The product is soluble in water exhibiting an aqueous cloud point of ~80°C. Due to its water solubility, it forms clear solutions in combination with water. Its high surface activity makes it ideal for use in both water and other liquids.
It can be used in combination with other nonionic as well as cationic and anionic surfactants. Chemal DA-9 is characterized by a moderate, persistent foam and provides good performance in the Draves wetting Test (48 sec @ 25°C). With an HLB of 14.3, this product is useful as a co-emulsifier in numerous applications.
